NORTENT Ly 1 is an extremely robust yet lightweight tent, offering ample space for one person, along with their equipment and cooking gear. This tent is perfect for longer hikes into the mountains and remote wilderness, providing reliable protection far away from houses and cabins. Its aerodynamic shape and versatile anchoring options make the Ly 1 a dependable companion in various weather conditions. Our philosophy is that you should not struggle against the elements but rather harmonize with them and thrive.
The Ly 1 is designed with clean, minimalist lines that blend seamlessly with the natural environment. As a tunnel tent, it is remarkably easy to set up, making it ideal for solo adventurers who need a quick and efficient shelter after a long day of trekking. The tent can be pitched in just 3-4 minutes with a bit of practice, allowing you to settle into a warm and secure sleeping bag swiftly. The design uses only two poles, significantly reducing the overall weight and making the Ly 1 easy to carry over long distances.
The tent's durability is enhanced by reinforcing all exposed areas with Dyneema, known as the world's strongest fiber. This ensures that the Ly 1 provides exceptional strength and longevity, making it the perfect choice for solo hikers looking for a spacious, practical, and functional tent.
The flysheet made of silnylon is of course waterproof. However, like all high-quality tents with this fabric, the seams can be treated with a special silicone mixture to ensure they are completely waterproof. This is not mandatory, but it's a good idea. One challenge with a waterproof tent is air circulation. Without proper airflow, condensation can build up on the inside walls of the outer flysheet (not inside the inner tent). Ventilation is crucial to prevent this.
To address this, Ly 1 is equipped with two large dedicated air vents at each end of the tent. Additionally, you can enhance ventilation by utilizing the four flexible entrances. The two top air vents also serve as extra overhangs, providing protection against rain when you leave the entrance open. This design ensures that you stay dry and comfortable inside the tent.
The Ly 1 features two spacious awnings, providing ample space for a backpack, shoes, and other equipment. These awnings are well-suited for cooking and using cooking equipment. Inside, you'll find a roomy inner tent that comfortably fits a 190x65 cm sleeping pad along with additional gear and clothing. On cold days, you can fully seal the doors of the inner tent for warmth, while on hot days, you can open them to allow airflow, with mosquito nets to keep insects out.
The inner tent is equipped with four storage pockets, ensuring you can keep all your small items and gear organized.
One of the standout features of the Ly 1 is its open-air system. You can fully open all three entrances to bring the feeling of nature inside the tent. In addition you are able to open the one side of the tent completely. This design allows you to enjoy the outdoors even on wet and harsh days, as the tent provides shelter from the weather and wind while the entrances are open. In severe weather, you can close the tent completely for maximum protection. The awnings also offer a great space for cooking, regardless of the weather conditions.
For those who prefer an even more immersive experience, the inner tent can be removed, allowing you to use the flysheet alone as an open shelter. This setup is perfect for enjoying the outdoors with the flexibility to have a campfire nearby. The Ly 1's design offers a versatile and flexible shelter option, enabling you to let nature in while staying protected from the elements.
The Ly 1 employs pole sleeves made from a thicker and more durable fabric compared to the lighter nylon of the flysheet. This combination greatly enhances the tent's durability and resistance to wind.
In strong winds, the thicker fabric of the sleeves distributes the force along the entire length of the poles, rather than focusing stress on specific points. This even distribution helps to prevent tears and damage, ensuring the tent remains sturdy and intact under harsh conditions.
The thicker fabric of the sleeves also adds extra support and stability to the tent structure. It works in tandem with the nylon flysheet to create a more resilient shelter. The sleeves allow the poles to slide through smoothly, maintaining the tent's aerodynamic shape and improving its ability to withstand strong winds.
By using thicker fabric for the sleeves, the Ly 1 ensures that external forces are evenly spread out, reducing the risk of damage and extending the tent's lifespan. This design choice enhances the tent's performance in challenging environments, providing superior protection and reliability.
If you need to make Ly 1 even more robust, we have designed it to accommodate double poles. This feature is made possible through our own dedicated pole cup design where our cups are made of flexible and durable nylon (not ABS plastic). Imagine standing in unforeseen and challenging weather, with persistent wind threatening to make your stay uncomfortable. Using double poles provides exceptional stability and adaptability to the unexpected.
With the freedom to double up on poles and the elimination of restrictive sleeves, you gain a significant advantage in creating an ultra-secure shelter. It's not just about setting up a tent; it's about confidently navigating the unpredictable elements. Whether you're contending with fierce winds or embracing a surprise snowfall, double poling offers a practical solution that takes your adventures to the next level in terms of adapting to the elements.
Our versatile Ly offers interchangeable configurations, allowing you to customize your setup based on your needs. Combine two Ly1 tents to create a Ly2 with one or two inner compartments. Want something even bigger? Connect a Ly2 with a Ly3 to form a spacious five-person tent with two separate sleeping areas. For ultimate flexibility, link three Ly tents together, using the middle one as a cooking area or communal space. You can also pair a Ly2 with a Ly1, transforming the Ly1 into a large vestibule. The possibilities are endless—tailor your Ly tents to suit any adventure!

We offer an optional footprint for Ly 1 (516 g). Using a footprint can extend the lifespan of the floor and shield it from potential damage, though it isn't essential for the tent's functionality. The thick and solid 70 D floor on the inner tent is both waterproof and puncture-proof. While the tent functions effectively without a footprint, some individuals prefer using one to keep mud away or to cover the vestibule floor. Footprints may play a role in preventing moisture from the ground from condensing on the inner surface of the outer tent. Our available footprints cover the entire underside of the tent, including the vestibules
NORTENT aluminum pegs are made of an aluminum alloy that promotes the proper properties of tent pegs. A tent peg should be strong, endure a lot of stress, but at the same time be somewhat flexible so that it bends instead of breaking straight by too much stress. Our stakes are therefore made of an aluminum alloy in the 7000 series. This is perhaps the market's strongest aluminum alloy, where our alloy has a degree of 7001 aluminum.. This is a degree of aluminum that promotes what we believe are important properties of a tent peg. Strong, but at the same time somewhat flexible. Our featherlite pegs are our lightest and smallest pegs at 8 g, where our stonghold pegs are biggest and heaviest at 24 g.
At Nortent, we are committed to delivering premium tents built to withstand the test of time. With our Ly series, we go the extra mile by offering free seam sealing on the main seams to further enhance performance. The seams are already highly durable and water-resistant, but this additional step significantly boosts their long-term waterproofness and durability, ensuring your tent remains strong for years of adventures ahead.
Silnylon, known for its strength and lightweight properties, presents a unique challenge: its seams cannot be taped to achieve waterproofing like those on other, less expensive fabrics. That’s why creating dense, water-resistant seams on silnylon requires more than just high-quality materials—it demands precision sewing techniques and exceptional craftsmanship. Seam sealing can only be performed and applied manually by hand where we focus on sealing the main seams because these are the most exposed areas. And although you could do this yourself, we take care of it for you to ensure optimal performance from the start.
Over time, silnylon tents from any manufacturer can experience pinhole expansion in the seams. Our seam sealing service addresses this issue, reinforcing these critical seams and preserving their original strength and waterproof capabilities, even after prolonged use in harsh environments.
This service highlights our commitment to quality and customer care. We understand that a tent is a long-term investment, and our goal is to ensure that your tent remains reliable and performs just as well in the future as it did on day one. Very few manufacturers offer this level of service, but we believe in going above and beyond to deliver a product that is ready for countless outdoor adventures.
By offering seam sealing directly from our factory, we remove the hassle for our customers while adding an extra layer of durability. This dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail makes an already outstanding tent even better, so you can enjoy the outdoors with complete confidence.
