Our Ly 3 tent is crafted with sleek and clean lines that harmonize with the natural surroundings. As a tunnel tent, it offers simplicity in setup, allowing you to establish a reliable shelter quickly, typically within 3-4 minutes. This feature is particularly beneficial during long hikes, where efficiency and ease are paramount. The design utilizes just three poles, significantly reducing its weight and enhancing portability. To further facilitate weight distribution on extended treks, the poles and tent are packed in separate, dedicated bags, making it easy for two or three people to share the load. This streamlined approach ensures that you can swiftly transition to the comfort and safety of your sleeping bag after a day's journey.
All exposed areas on the outer fabric are reinforced with Dyneema, which is considered the world's strongest fiber. It is therefore entirely appropriate that we use this fabric fiber in our tents.
The flysheet made of silnylon is of course waterproof. However, like all high-quality tents with this fabric, the seams can be treated with a special silicone mixture to ensure they are completely waterproof. This is not mandatory, but it's a good idea. One challenge with a waterproof tent is air circulation. Without proper airflow, condensation can build up on the inside walls of the outer flysheet (not inside the inner tent). Ventilation is crucial to prevent this.
To address this, Ly 3 is equipped with two large dedicated air vents at each end of the tent. Additionally, you can enhance ventilation by utilizing the four flexible entrances. The two top air vents also serve as extra overhangs, providing protection against rain when you leave the entrance open. This design ensures that you stay dry and comfortable inside the tent.
Ly 3 has two very spacious awnings where there is plenty of space for a backpack, shoes and other equipment. At the same time, the awnings are well adapted for cooking and use of cooking equipment. At the awning you will find a spacious inner tent with plenty of space for three persons where the inner tent easily accommodates three 190x60 cm sleeping pads in addition to gear and clothes. For cold days you can seal the doors in the inner tent completely. For hot days you can open them, but still and at the same time, have mosquito net covering the entrances against insects.
We have equipped the inner tent with a total of 4 storage pockets so that you can keep all your small stuff and gear in order..
You can open all four entrances to bring "nature" into the tent. On wet and harsh days, the design of the tent still provides shelter from the weather and wind with the entrances open. In really stormy weather, you may prefer to close it completely. But still, there is of course the possibility of doing all your cooking in the awning.. Ly 3 is designed for flexible use where you are presented with many different options to let nature into the tent, but at the same time be protected from wind and rain. The Ly 3 also includes an open-air system, enabling you to fully roll up both sides of the tent for a more immersive experience with nature. This design lets you enjoy the outdoors while still being sheltered.
Ly 3 utilizes sleeves for attaching the poles.The sleeves for the poles are made from a thicker and durable fabric compared to the thinner nylon fabric of the flysheet. This combination significantly enhances the tent's durability and wind resistance.
When strong winds act on the tent, the thicker fabric of the sleeves distributes the force along the length of the pole, rather than concentrating stress at specific points. This even distribution reduces the risk of tearing and damage, ensuring that the tent remains robust and intact under harsh conditions.
Additionally, the thicker fabric of the sleeves provides extra support and stability to the tent structure. It works in conjunction with the nylon flysheet to create a more resilient shelter. The sleeves allow the poles to slide through smoothly, maintaining the tent's aerodynamic shape and enhancing its ability to withstand strong winds.
By using sleeves with thicker fabric, Ly 3 ensures that external forces are evenly spread out, minimizing the risk of damage and extending the tent's lifespan. This design choice enhances the tent's performance in challenging environments, offering superior protection and reliability.
If you need to make Ly 3 even more robust, we have designed it to accommodate double poles. This feature is made possible through our own dedicated pole cup design where our cups are made of flexible and durable nylon (not ABS plastic). Using double poles provides exceptional stability and adaptability to the unexpected.
With the freedom to double up on poles and the elimination of restrictive sleeves, you gain a significant advantage in creating an ultra-secure shelter. Our versatile Ly offers interchangeable configurations, allowing you to customize your setup based on your needs. Combine two Ly1 tents to create a Ly2 with one or two inner compartments. Want something even bigger? Connect a Ly2 with a Ly3 to form a spacious five-person tent with two separate sleeping areas. For ultimate flexibility, link three Ly tents together, using the middle one as a cooking area or communal space. You can also pair a Ly2 with a Ly1, transforming the Ly1 into a large vestibule. We offer an optional footprint for Ly 3 (570 g). Using a footprint can extend the lifespan of the floor and shield it from potential damage, though it isn't essential for the tent's functionality. The thick and solid 70 D floor on the inner tent is both waterproof and puncture-proof. While the tent functions effectively without a footprint, some individuals prefer using one to keep mud away or to cover the vestibule floor. Footprints may play a role in preventing moisture from the ground from condensing on the inner surface of the outer tent. Our available footprints cover the entire underside of the tent, including the vestibules
NORTENT aluminum pegs are made of an aluminum alloy that promotes the proper properties of tent pegs. A tent peg should be strong, endure a lot of stress, but at the same time be somewhat flexible so that it bends instead of breaking straight by too much stress. Our stakes are therefore made of an aluminum alloy in the 7000 series. This is perhaps the market's strongest aluminum alloy, where our alloy has a degree of 7001 aluminum.. This is a degree of aluminum that promotes what we believe are important properties of a tent peg. Strong, but at the same time somewhat flexible. Our featherlite pegs are our lightest and smallest pegs at 8 g, where our stonghold pegs are biggest and heaviest at 24 g.

And although you could do this yourself, we take care of it for you to ensure optimal performance from the start.
Over time, silnylon tents from any manufacturer can experience pinhole expansion in the seams. Our seam sealing service addresses this issue, reinforcing these critical seams and preserving their original strength and waterproof capabilities, even after prolonged use in harsh environments.
